Tree Climbing shoes

Hi guys ive looking at bying new tree climbing shoes any recommendations at the moment is use a heavy pair not shure what make i need them to be all round protection and ideal for tree climbing and preferably lightweight thanks.

    Do you mean recreational climbing boots, or chainsaw protective?

     

    I use Elten hydrofells, but don't like em. Heard good things about Meindl and Haix. Try a few pairs on at your local supplier.

    hi guys the boots i wear at the moment are stihl standard boots, there great for ground work extremely sturdy and rigid boots lasted for about 3 years now with continual use but for tree climbing there a nightmare, there too heavy, the quiry i have is. I see many tree climber using non chainsaw shoes for climbing, is it a legal requirment to chainsaw shoes while your tree climbing and what type of shoes are good for this job ?

    No need to wear chainsaw protection when not using chainsaw. I often go up the tree in my walking boots if I'm just using a silky. There's no legal requirement to wear any protection whatsoever, it's just an insurance and common sense matter.
