Yesterday me and my felllow directors came to a decision about garden designers and I wanted to share this with the juice and get some feedback, so if anyone has the time please feel free to comment.
We currently offer a trade discount to landscapers and garden designers of 5%. This works well for the landscape contractors because they will often buy the stone themselves. However it does not work as well for garden designers because in many cases (not always but very often in our experience) garden designers will simply spec a product and the end client will come to us and buy it directly. This means that even though garden designers may regularly spec our products, they will not see any financial benefits for doing so (obviously they get the joy of dealing with us but...... :) ). We are proposing to put a loyalty system in place for designers so when they do spec our products they will get a credit on their account for 5% off the value of the order placed. They will then be able to financiallly benefit from their loyalty to us. Would weclome the thoughts of anyone on this
A few photos of the progress of our new showroom over at Coolings Garden Centre in Knockholt, Kent. Its turned into a big old job and taken a lot longer than we originally planned. On a positive note its starting to take shape and is looking really good
Looks like an excellent show piece Steve
Cheers Craig, it will be when its finished. The design has changed a couple of times during installation and its much bigger than intended which is not a bad thing as we have plenty of space at the garden centre
Steve
good idea to try and keep the designers on board. bit disappointed with the photos as i expected more stone products other than paving and wall tops as i am a million miles from you i have never looked at your web hope i am wrong
Not quite sure what you mean David. When you mention other stone products, if you mean things like gravel and boulders, we made a commercial decison not to get into those products. There are other companies out there like CED for example who are very strong on these type of products and we dont want to get involved with it. Our passion is for paving and bespoke products like steps, coping, pool surrounds, pier caps and cladding. Check out the website if you havent already www.londonstone.com
Cheers

Hello
Wanted to share an event with you all. London Stone will be in Edinburgh on the 12th September to meet with the local SGD cluster group. We will be there to carry out a presentation on natural stone. The presentation usually takes 90 minutes and covers a range of topics concerning natural stone paving.
I would like to invite any landscape juicers based in Scotland or the North of England to attend the event. Dont worry if you are not in the SGD and also landscape contractors are very welcome
If anyone is interested please get in touch
Steve
I would be good to have a photo update of your show gardens Steve:)
