I am with BT and can get up to 8 MB, my neighbours are with sky and apparently it is like using dial up, I also know someone nearby who is with Orange, they get around 0.25MB.
Prior to using BT, my Internet service provider was UKonline, they advertised up to 8MB, I could only get 1MB where I live, as soon as I changed to BT broadband my speed went up dramatically.
At the moment I use BT's business package for my landline and broadband as this offers more facilities, I also subscribe to there IT support, which is £10 / month, which is a 24hour service, very useful at times.
Initially when I changed to a business line with BT I had a lot of problems, you can read it here.
In conclusion, I would use BT, despite my initial problems, I do get a very fast broadband speed.
Roy and Jez, It sounds like I should ask my neighbors too. what do they get.
