Stihl RM 655 RS Belt slipping off.. seems to be getting slower...

I have a Stihl RM 655 RS roller mower. Last year the leaver to engage the blade started to play up! The leaver when pullup wouldnt sit within the metal drop down slot.( I used a bit of rope, to hold the leaver in place ) A couple of months ago the belt kept slipping of the drive, i sent the mower in to be fixed! I have had the mower back recently, the leaver has had a whole new assembly, but the mechanic has said he cant find anything wrong with the belt slipping off...! 

I took it on the first job, done about 4 stripes, and the belt has come off again! What can be the issue here with the belt? and why is the drive beconing slower?

    It could well be a over worn belt that has stretched or the the tensioner spring is worn or not seated correctly so that when then it's under stress it just pops off.

    I'd just get the mechanic to have another look................   he'll probably not charge much as he's already had a go which he'll have charged you for, and failed.
