Be warned its very heavy due to the length, i only use mine in extreme circumstances.
Never strimmed with it ;)
It's just one bank that needs doing - maybe 15 metres in length and about 3 metres high, but it's bloody steep. I'd need climbing gear if I was to do it with a normal strimmer... I did worry about the weight... I see that they make a "brush cutter" end, that looks a little like a squished hedge cutter... maybe this will be easier...
Or spikes on my shoes!
I've got a 90 and use an extension regularly with a hedge trimmer and polesaw. It's alright you can just about notice less power with a polesaw but you can't really notice it with a hedge trimmer it's more the much increased awkwardness.

We have a strimmer on a backpack (fr450 I think?) which is amazing on banks but you need extra strong wrists to control it as it has so much torque!
Stihl do make a 130 engine backpack now.
Has there been any trouble with the flexi shaft on them? Thats mainly what put me off buying one.
we have no problem with ours!

I use an FR130T with strimmer, blower, hedge cutter, pole pruner! Last two with the 1m extension as required. Yes they can be difficult to handle due to the weight of the tool head, but a very flexible system and I think well worth it.
Drive shafts do fail, I get through one a season. I try and keep the shaft as straight as possible in use, and grease it when I remember. Changing them takes about a minute and £25!

I think, for the amount of time that I'd need to use it, that I should be able to manage with the strimmer attachment on the extension pole. That might be the way to go.
