Hi

I have a Stihl KM85r and whilst I was topping a hedge a wire bird feeder got jammed in the blades. Ever since this has happened it struggles powering the trimmer.  It works fine with the Strimmer attachment as this is fairly easy for it to turn but once i put on the hedge trimmers I may get a couple of limp stokes out of the blades and thats all. The engine works fine and the hedge trimmer are fine on another head unit.  Its as though something is slipping! Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

  • Well I just opened it up, do the 3 clutch shoes have a wear layer on them (a bit like a brake shoe)?  Because if so they have worn away and it's down to the metal. Just want to make sure it's most likely to be them first.
