STIHL Hs45 throttle cable issue

Hi folks my trusty stihl hs45 throttle cable has developed an issue ... lost revs ... checked & cable is fine .

there is small jacking screw around plastic mount which also has been fully adjusted & not effect really ..

when I look down at opposite side ie throttle button the cable end is not " tethered "... think it should be but nothing obvious  here ?? Looking advice or pic of one that's correctly routed ?

 Any advice appreciated 👍

The hs45s are a domestic tool and as such when used a lot the cable stretches or the plastic guide wears due to use, most of the time just replacing the cable works. Number 19 is the tensioner that you have fully adjusted and if this is the case the cable is normally stretched or there is ware in the tensioner.13076531486?profile=RESIZE_930x

  • Thanks Dave for taking to reply ..

im still not convinced of the floating cable at the throttle side ? Looks wrong & nothing obvious to reroute that fits - that I can find !! I'll try & hook up a photo of it 👍

  • I've never known an outer cable to not have an anchor point.  does it locate at one end of the semicircle part 19?

  • to me the cable is not in the right position its pulling sidways should it enter through the center so its inline

  • Don't have that version, but seen others where the outer is simply held back by part of the handle, without having an actual fixing. Looking at your photo, I would try pushing the cable behind the plastic "fork" in front of where the wire enters the trigger.
