No you are not the only one :-) Stihl have had lots of issues with the caps and many annoyed Contractors with some having the better style caps installed by their dealers. We had several replaced. I think there was a thread about the issues with these 'older' caps.
Like most manufacturer's, there will be faults but its how you deal with them and your valued professional contractors that count..
Same as Gary and hopefully this latest design does the trick, so far I haven't had any issues.
On a slightly different tack, is anyone else having problems with STIHL taking weeks to deliver spare parts to their dealers. I have been waiting for over three weeks - different parts and two different dealers, both are saying how bad STIHL are and the problem has slowly been getting worst.
Yes, our Dealer states the same. I was there yesterday to pick up ~£50 worth of spares that were recently ordered. We almost have a 'standing order' of items that get 'consummed'
I've got a bee in my bonnet at the moment with Stihl.....They need to engage better with those that pay for their existence...ie you and me !
My thought would be why aren't the dealers holding some spares in stock, if they know Stihl are slow to deliver?
I wonder if Stihl are trying to encourage them to do this in order to push the cost of holding stock down the chain....
