Staged accidents near the M25

A few weeks ago I was involved in a road accident on the A414 where I ran into the back of another vehicle that had stopped sudenly after alledgedly being cut up by another car. At the time the whole incident seemed very dodgy, after a few days the personal injury claims from the passengers came in as did the damage claim for the other vehicle.I had the prescence of mind to photograph the damage to the other vehicle at the time and ask if any of the cars occupants had been hurt they said they were all uninjured.I have had a copy of an email from the Thames Valley Police via my broker, describing the details of this type of accident. These criminals are targetting vans, if you are involved in this type of accident in and around the M25 contact the police and insist they attend, get as much info as you can get photos get names and adresses, if anyone wants more info please contact me.

  • yes ,this should be highlighted to your insurance company . they will look out on the 'medicals' so wii get caught out if faking a lot....

not to avoid you paying out maybe unless police can prove it .. but unsubstantial claims will be classed as fraud. and they will be on record /national data base for this in future regarding personal 'fake' injury claims.

hope you are ok and ii sympathise with you phil. accidents are bad enough without schemed crashes !

put all your honesty into proving them as 'fraudsters' ,it may stop it happening to someone else and possibly prevent a death. all the best 2u

The same happened to one of my drivers in September last year. (Almost exactly as you described your accident above)

Despite having independent witnesses in another vehicle I was unable to recover my losses from any other driver and the police were seemingly unable to do anything either.

    Very frustrating!
  • Hi Nick
The police are now taking it very seriously, if you like I can forward the attachment from Thames Valley police.
    Where did the accident happen?

Reminds me of this case in Stockport:

Fraudster staged almost 100 car crashes and cost insurance firms £1.6m
  • I thought I would add an update to this.
    Cash for crash arrests
  • I watched the video same bit of road that I was using when I was involved.
    Crash for cash
