i would stick to what you know and is cheapest to be honest it all gives you around the same reading just depends on how exact you wish to be with it
thanks Neal- thing is i live in Portugal- and although its cheaper to start with i need to get them sent out here- with the probe thingy i only need to buy one and it will last me for several tests. i don't need to be really accurate just whether the soil is on the acid or alkaline side. i've seen the probes used by colleagues but never sure whether they actually work?!
ok great - thanks both of you- i'll stick to the traditional method and order the litmus paper- much better idea!
