Selective herbicide around bulbs

I have never used and am not aware of one, but hope you can help...

A selective herbicide to be used on ground baring bulbs (to kill ground elder, wild garlic, nettles, and some mares tail)?  Not sure on the science! Bulbs aren't classed as monocotyledonous are they, therefore resistant to selective's such as headland and depitox?

Alternatively, is it best to wait until top growth has completely passed?

  • good question,   but i guess not to use them close to borders at all - only on lawns. !!

  • This an area under some trees that will be seeded for a lawn but they want rid of weeds obviously.  I'll ask a local agronomist I know.
