I don't know what to make of this... scaremongering, sensationalism or realism from the Daily Express ? Now just waiting to see the Daily Mail's take ;-)

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/442873/Coldest-winter-in-modern-times-on-way-with-snow-forecast-for-Britain-starting-next-week

Should we take this on-board and look to see how it will affect our businesses this year ?

Very little on the % chance of probability and note the Met office comments don't seem to support it, but does seem to cover their backsides...

mmmmhhhh ... Need to mull over that !

    Bring it on!!

Possibly not the most helpful comment to others but would be good for my company.

If anyone wants help (and is up to one hours drive from Heathrow) then it might be prudent to get in touch with me.

It may be scaremongering Gary, but instinct tells me that we will have to pay for a mild autumn.

    Time will tell, I guess:)

  • The Mail will probably come back with one of these....

  • I reckon this is the sort of thing "tabloid" papers come out with when they're short of news and when they can't dig up anything more about princess Diana lol.

  • I seem to recall there was a similar weather related article, for the summer of 2012 when they advised it would be a barbecue summer.

Seem to remember wellies and brollies were in order throughout.

Not even going to go into the infamous Michael Fish hurricane debacle.
  • There has been a stupendous display of berries out this year...!! Better dig my sledge out.

It was the Met Office themselves who predicted a BBQ summer:)http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/archive/2009/summer2009

    Then had to revise: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8173533.stm

  • I'll just open the curtains each morning and face what ever mother nature throws at me.....

  • I'm with Kerry on this one.

I can't believe a word the weatherman says. Forecast for the begging of the week was dry all week and the heavens opened last night. I think the papers just want something to write about or have they been phone hacking Mr Fish too?

  • Bring on a 10 week freeze; I need an enforced rest for the sake of my back.
