I have one, an 861M107. Its been great for me. As the gearbox is mounted above the deck it has a full width collection chute meaning it picks up very well. It has more than enough grunt to deal with long grass but my one bug bare is that the highest height setting is not high enough.
The swing tip blades are a good feature, the solid grass box is excellent and the durability is good. Also comes with a mulch plug and it mulches well.
Downsides would be that its heavy, has no blade brake and the height thing mentioned above.
Had it for 3 faultless years, I would buy another if i didn't want a new roller mower.
Not sure why you think they are expensive, they are very much at the lower end of professional mowers.
hi Simon" how does the mulching work on it is it different blades etc.
I've got 2. One I've had since 1987, that's the 18" push version, & a 21" powered model that I got last year. The 21" has a mulching plug that fits in the chute opening, there is no need to change the blades.
I haven't tried the 21" on long grass, but the 18" has cut everything I've thrown it at. The price I was told, is due to them being Australian & how strong the Aussie dollar is.

I've got a Rover Supercut that is a little bit younger than I am that I use for long grass/rough area mowing (or collection of strimmed stuff etc.) brilliant but like Simon says it could do with going a little higher.
thank you robert
