Ride on mower trailers.

Getting to the point now where i dont really feel comfortable driving my ride on, backwards and forwards on to my tipper. My tipper is rather high off the ground and driving it on and off can be quite interesting, even though i have proper ramps and a safe way of loading it on.

So im getting to the stage now where im considering getting a trailer, purely for the ride on mower. Not for loading green waste on.

So can anyone recommend a trailer for ride ons? Used or new? And fairly cheap too?Are there any on Ebay worth looking at?

My ride on is 48 inches wide = the width of the side shoot.

    Hi Steve
    I use an ifor Williams LT105G for my Hayter LT324.
    Its got a load capacity of 2t with a 10f x 5.5f load area so plenty big enough for your machine.
    Got mine off eBay 2 years ago for £900 and has been a really good buy.
    It has removable drop sides so if you do carry waste on it its easy to tie down and off load.
    It came with the ifor ramps which are really strong and store underneath the trailer.
    Its about half the loading height of the transit and I think you can get the high mesh sides too
    These are a fairly common trailer and seems to be always quite a few kicking about second hand for around a £1000 for a decent one.

    Ive been looking on ebay for trailers.

    I know ifor williams are good trailers but if anyone knows of any other makes that are good then please let me know?

    Indespension and bateson trailers are worth a look.

    I've had an indespension plant trailer before and was a good strong trailer

    Got in touch with an old boss who is selling a 2006 twin axle, 9ft by 5ft ifor williams. Reckon i can get it for around £700. This is a good price isnt it?

    Also how much would it cost me to have a tow bar fitted?

    Hi Steve, if its in reasonable nick then yeah a fair price, tow bar and electrics are around £180.00, depending on your vehicle

    For that size of trailer as long as its in good working order sounds a good price to me.

    Not sure of the model to be honest. I know its a fairly new shape. 

    I think it may need a service. New mud guards, lights checked and possibly a floor repair. Nothing major.

    It will only be used for transporting my ride on mower, so no green waste will be placed in it.

    I found this on ebay and was wondering for anyones thoughts?
    The reason i look at this trailer is because it will only be used for transporting a ride on. It looks ok to me but am wondering if anyone knows anything good or bad about this particular make?

    It would do the job I guess, but the mower would need to be under 500kg-ish to be legal on an unbraked trailer. Personally I'd try and get an ifor or indespension due to dealer support and spares availability, not to mention residual value. A £1000 used Ifor will still be worth £1000 in 2-3 years time if you want to sell. That Paxton will lose money from day 1, although it is pretty cheap anyway I know.
