Further to what we said on facebook.
Newer Stiga decks are rear discharge or mulch so can still tackle long grass where needed. Twin blade decks are timed (want to avoid as hit an obstacle and the blades can hit each other) and the three blades are not timed and are non-interference so wont ever hit each other.
I see are John Deere side on side discharge any good only look to spend 2k on a second hand machine
An estate we do has an x300 that has 550 hours on it, its only used for mulching. Seems well regarded by some people but I've never really liked the feel of them. Cant ever explain why but I dont seem to get on with them.
But if you're buying second hand and at that low a budget then the condition of the machine is going to be far more important than anything else.
I live pretty far away from you but I will be selling a 42 inch Side discharge husky (badged as a mcculoch so black) in the winter. It's an 09 model but wasnt used for a few years by the owners as it was too small, and we have used it at one church ground every fortnite for the past two years. If you're interested I can send you more details nearer the time? You'd have to come get it but it'd be much less than 2k
Is that a single blade 42 inch?
Also only issue is I need it now as i will be starting mowing it next week for the foreseeable future
Twin blade (non-synchornised so wont clash) with a 200l bagger (which is meh, like all non blower side discharge collectors).
Sorry I cant let it go quite yet as its replacement hasnt arrived. If you cant sort something out though I'll still be happy to sell it to you. Im not going to list it until winter
Think I've picked up a etesia Bahia 80 for £600 used 10 times any good?
Good brand. As long as its truely just 10 times then thats a great buy
Well gonna check deck over well it's perfect size for the area I need currently plus they sell a mulching kit for it
Good machines, I have an older one, still runs great.
Depending on its age you may need to change front wheel bearings, deck bearings, tensioner bearings etc, moisture gets past the seals and they degrade very quickly when used again.
Bearings are all standard parts, take them out, check the number and replace with branded parts, genuine supplied from the dealer are roughly double the price.
Budget a couple of hundred for parts if you are DIY repairing and you won't go far wrong.
That’s massively underpriced, so go in with eyes wide open ......
