Referral Schemes.

I'm thinking about introducing a referral scheme into the business. A previous client recommends you to a potentially knew customer and if you gain work with the new customer you give the old client a reward, voucher, small finders fee or similar.

Is this a good idea.. Or will it be a waste of time because a happy satisfied existing client should pass on my details any way.

I just thought it may add extra incentive.

  • I think if you are a small business who does a good job people do not expect a reward for recommending some one. Most genuine customer are happy to just help you in growing.

If they get you a big job then may be a bottle of whiskey or something may be.
  • Forget it Matt. The new client will be well pissed off when they find out their bill included a 'bung' to the person who recommended you.
