Red thread

I realise this has probably been asked about before in other discussions, but if you could help please it would be much appreciated ... my customers lawn had red thread this time last year ... a well known lawn treatment company came and " dealt " with it ..............  this year it is back again with a vengeance to such an extent that it looks like Banksy has been round and spray painted red patches all over it !!!

I've read on here that it is due to a lack of nitrogen .......... if this is correct, how can this be sorted ?

Thank you.

Once you get red thread it tends to come back each year. Likes mild moist conditions, so seen quite a bit this spring. Yes lack of nitrogen is sometimes a problem, but so is general stress. So also look for compaction and thatch and address those later in the season if present.

At the moment treat with a fungicide and non scorch late spring / summer feed.
