Raking out resin pointing

I've just been to look at a job where the clients son has done a really poor job of resin pointing his mothers patio. I,m sure he meant well but it really is rubbish.

There are whole areas of pointing missing and in most areas it sits way to low as if he did not have enough product. Also i am unimpressed with the amount of algae and moss growth on the pointing not helped by it being so low as to be water collection channels

Its an old patio thats been down for a while but will be serviceable if the pointing is done right and a couple slabs are relaid to correct levels.

My question is what is the best way to rake out the resin pointing, anybody had to do it yet?

Being a resin i assume it will melt or go soft with grinding? I'm guessing it won't break up like mortar.

I usually use a combination of mortar rakes, thick grinding disc for raking out, and pointed tools to hook out loose stuff.

From another area i did for the client before, I know some of the joints are quite wide and deep so i will most likely be doing trad mortar pointing to match in with what we already completed 2 years ago.

Any thoughts appreciated.
