I would top soil ontop, others may differ.
personally i would spray the existing grass off with herbicide as well first... it will take a lot of soil to bring it up to the level needed especially once firmed/rolled so be sure not to under estimate the amount required
Ok thanks all for advice, would I be wise to put a course of MOT to firm it up and help with drainage then top soil?
personally i wouldnt add stony material under the surface of a lawn but maybe rough up the existing with a rotavator beforehand to improve the drainage and chances are the new top soil added will be of a different consistency anyhow
Once you tell him the cost of all that soil, I bet he'll change his mind!....... looking at the state of things, he obviously doesn't like spending much money on the place :)
well to be fair maybe the guy has just moved in or won big on a scratch card lol but its going to take one massive lorry load at least if not 2
Cheers for the advice. I'll work out the top soil and see if they want it doing, looks a lot if graft so charge it accordingly. Thanks again
yes if they wanted to save a bit of cash seeding rather than turfing might be the way to go after the top soil is down but some people want it looking instant
I'd reckon about 8 cubic metres at least........ he'll change his mind I'm sure. He'd do better repairing the driveway.
same as Graham 8m3 or roughley 10 tons
