The main question would be whether or not you have a ride on cylinder mower. If not, it will be an expensive job to try and get.
Sorry should have stated that I do indeed have a ride on mower
i have cut sports fields before i charge 75.00 for standard cut and 150.00 for cut and collect. they take about an hour to cut without collect and 1.5 - 2 hours to cut and collect.
Thanks for that
Big difference depending on location it seems - round here the going rate with most of the larger contractors for a standard sport field cutting with a tractor and gang mower is £35.......
But they are losing money doing it for that Adam, rather than it being the going rate. No idea what they are up to.
Ben- what kit are you using for these sort of jobs?
This is an area Iam hoping to get into next year and currently looking at the Ransome HR3300T rotary as they have great reviews but I could not do it for £35 and Iam not far from you Adam. It would have to be nearer £55-60 to make it pay on my calculations.
Mark I don't believe you will get the work with a rotary; they can be quite specific with cut height.
This can be very localized as Agri guys wont drive very far due to fuel costs in a big tractor, but where you are competing against someone with 110hp, and a 25ft width gang mower who can cut a pitch in 5 mins flat.... its a different game!
