  • this area is about 16ft long by 3ft at the widest and is a part shade area i am thinking strong foilage with ostrigage ferns, euphorbia, and rudbeckia and two dwarf roddendrums which have to go in underplanted with hosta and alchemilla at the right side and the nepeta running threw the ferns.hows that sound any idears will be welcom.

  • Chris, hedge looks a bit scratty, would you be able do a bit of rejuvenation on it before planting, maybe cutting the face back and the top to end up at, say, just a few inches above the height of the fence (depending on whats on the other side). March / April is when it'll respond best.

  • yes the hedge was cut back before i saw this job apparently it was double the hight and at least a few feet wider than it is pictured it looks worst on the picture than for real he wants to leave it to thicken up where its brown but keep it in trim now he not to fussed as he is only renting the place. to be honest its a after thought as is front garden is the mane area he wants doing.
