  • It is, but to be honest the 80-100 at such a price will be quite thin and spindly and most likely in 2l pots, and badly pot-bound, you would be better, if thats your budget, getting 40-60 bushy specimens.

If you go for them in 5l pots you MAY be able to get them at £8+vat is your buying 100 or so, otherwise id expect most nurserys to want £10-12 Inc vat thereabouts.

These guys do a 60-90 which is close to your needs for £12 or so Including VAT in 5L pot, you could get one for £6ish + Vat in a 2L pot, but Personally they would look like what they are.... a tall whippy baby plant.

    How many are your after?

    You can try here....

Slightly shorter & cheaper but would discuss or ask for a photo first. We have used them several times for short notice needs and stock has been good.

Our local nursery is listing them at:

Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia 60-70 Root Ball £6.00+vat. Min Order applies

Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia 90-100 Root Ball £8.25+vat. Min Order applies

However, there should be many good nurseries local to you that are taking in root-ball stock now we're into that season......

  • Our trade supplier in Leicester have Prunus Lusitanica in 40/60cm (5L pots) at £5.95 + VAT. For the 80/100cm you are looking at £15.40 + VAT.

  • I think you'll struggle. I've not seen them bare-root, and potted will be more for good specimens.

Gary, those aren't Portugese laurel! If it's ordinary Cherry laurel then bare root are available now.

You're right - I didn't read properly :-( I blame my iPhone.....In which case, these are the root ball prices for Oct

Prunus lusitanica 80-100 Root Ball £12.75 + vat Min Order applies

Prunus lusitanica 100-125 Root Ball £15.60 + vat Min Order applies

So looks like you would struggle to get that price
