Petrol scarifiers reviews

I'm looking to buy a petrol scarifier before next February as I want to add this service to my grass cutting business, I'm looking for the type that has the spring tines as I know this will suit the type of work I do better than the blade type and also don't want one that is to heavy, will be using it for moss removal etc on fairly decent lawns in general, any advice welcome thanks.

  • I too am looking and also want something towards the lightweight end of the spectrum. Lots of carrying/pulling equipment up and down hills/terraced gardens here in the Yorkshire valleys.
  • For small lawns that are hard to access I use the Mantis scarifier attachment.

Wolf scarifiers are amazing, light enough for easy use and more than enough power. Much better than the Camon unit I used to hire in terms of quality of job and ease of use. I think I paid about £400 inc Vat for mine this spring.

    • I have to agree

Even on our commercial lawns the wolf is the best we have used.

It's that light one man can pick it up with ease.

  • Same here but I've been tempted by this.

I've done business with these b4 and they've been excellent.
  • Am I right in thinking you have to pay a £1000+ to get an auto drive one?
  • I have a Dori scarifier purchased this spring £374 inc vat. It is a blade machine but not overly heavy and very good at removing moss. It is well built and sturdy with Briggs and Stratton engine.
Like John Pugh I advertised scarifying again with limited success, but machine certainly looks the part and does good job.
  • Which model did you buy?

  • Have got one of those already, but want to get on with the jobs without having to use the customers electic.

  • Hi Dan

If you google dori 38bs you will get lots of links to it. Only downside seems to be not much of a dealer network but if you need spares they are available from distributor. http://www.dorigm.co.uk/scarifiers.html.
I had to change a couple of knives and they supplied parts and e-mail explaining how to do it. Mechanic would probably have done job in half an hour, but took me 3 hours.
