Online accounts packages

Need a bit of advise I had a meeting with a business advisor today and she encouraged me to buy an online accounts package - Sage one cashbook (£6.00 inc VAT) per month

I currently use jobber for quoting, invoicing & scheduling (£22 per month)

Jobber currently integrates with Xero £20 per month & quickbooks £13 per month(online versions)plus a charge from jobber at £5 per month.

I know of another one that seems to get good reviews kashflow £10 + vat per month.

My accountant does all the necessary paperwork tax wise and this would be to give me a better understanding on a monthly basis how the business is preforming

I would ideally like to keep the cost down for obvious reasons, but don't want to start going down a road and finding that I should have maybe gone for something that integrates with my current systems (jobber).

Am I better to bite the bullet and buy the more expensive product now or use the cheaper one first, do I really need any of these products as I plan on keeping an accountant in place.

  • Not sure about Sage and Kaskflow, but I know that QB and Xero both have trials for their Online versions. You could test them out and see how well they work for you.

We went with those two since they are a couple of the bigger companies and were the most requested integrations. Having those two integrations were very important for people since they wanted to avoid double entry. Even if your accountant does it all, it could make it easier for both of you.

Interested in hearing what others have to say though.

Also Robbie, if you want to try out either of the integrations with Jobber just let me know, I can get a credit put on your account for a couple months so you don't have to pay for the add-on while you get everything sorted.

If Jobber integrated with Sage it would make me a very happy man!

We use Sage Instant for both the companies I manage the books for (Currently only use Jobber for one company but that may change!)

  • If it had to guess I bet Sage would be one of the next ones we do but currently we don't have any plans to do it.

When we make our roadmap, it is set based on the developers we have now. We plan to keep adding a lot of developers so then our roadmap may change. I will keep Sage in mind though.

    Thanks Landen.
I am so far down the road with Sage it would be such an upheaval to change!
