I don't think you can blanket spray any hard surfaces now.
Not sure though will know soon as I'm doing pa1 and 6aw in the new year

I believe it is as you use their applicator

    Yes & yes.

It's a key feature/benefit of the NoMix CDA. Search LJN and you'll find some commentary on it (from me probably :)

I'll try and answer any other questions later once back from site.

  • Main question is is it worth the investment? The driveways that I can no longer use Hammer on are getting weedy, including my own!

Phil, a hard one to answer....

If you're already equipped with a Knqpsack etc and don't do much spraying - then No. Maybe easier to repeat spot spray of glypho?

If you're finding many requests for such services and/or perfer to use safest method possible and/or need to update equipment - then Yes.

There is a certain 'ease of use' with them but they need to be treated with care. We've bought a cheap rifle case off eBay which it fits in nicely.

Our gear/supplies are purchased from ProGreen who wer helpful when discussing options/costs/advice etc (see side bar advert >>>>>)

  • Mm. I do already have a fairly new knapsack but that could easily be reassigned to lawn care products. My main concern is the block paved drives where weed growth is now getting to a point that spot spraying would be like blanket spraying but more time consuming. I was also hoping there might be a market for driveway weed control like there is for lawn treatments. I see a lot of drives that are greening over as I drive around town. Thoughts?

    Hi Phil,

Yes as the others have said its the only residual for hard surfaces. Blanket spraying is a bit iffy - rather they prefer only spraying on areas ' where weed growth can occur'  - cracks, gaps, etc and on pavements limit it to a 30cm swath over the kerb edge and gullies. Pricewise its going to cost more per m2 than a standard glyphosate dilution but you have so many benefits with it - its instantly available, no mixing or diluting, no carting litres of concentrate or water around, minimum PPE required, cleaner and safer for the operator (good for Coshh assessments) and lighter to carry so less operator fatigue & injury. Plus its the only option for hard surface residuals.

Very popular with driveway specialists, have a look or phone us for a talk through it if you want..

Do you still use that tank mix now for hard surfaces?

      • no only use tank mix on large areas of gravel and soil  used the no mix on small areas and hard surfaces
