Just measured the trailor is only 8x5ft.
Having browsed ebay i found this triple gang mower, would this be upto the job ?
1999 T ROAD LEGAL ROBERINE 900 DIESEL TRIPLE DECK RIDE ON MOWER
Given the area you really need a 35HP+ tractor with a 5 gang set of "trailed" or "bat winged" mowers which wont of course fit on your trailer.
The one on Ebay looks interesting as its a 4 wheeled model with cab, apart from the condition of the cylinders and bottom bar, going to cost a lot to have those reground. It will take you a long time to cut that field with this however.
Benjamin , First question to ask how often is area going to be cut? for the size of the area you would be better with some like trimax bat wing mower with tractor , give me a call 077554317
Hi Benjamin, that is not that big a site really, most of my sites are that size and a lot bigger and are easily done with my Ransomes 728 front decked rotary cut, mulched and dropped. Cylinder cutting machines are high maintenance and expensive to have the cylinders sharpened (one stone or piece of metal debris and you are looking at £300 minimum per cylinder for replacement). The councils use them because they don't eject the grass and objects out like rear or side discharge machines do, so very little danger of any damage getting done to people or property while they are out cutting communal grass areas. Cylinder sharpening up here is around £150 a time, and if they get damaged beyond repair you are looking at £300 plus for a new cylinder.
Look at rotary machines to do this, it will be just as effective, fit for purpose and lot less hassle when it comes to maintenance. Triple cylinder machines can only be justified when you have lots and lots of large grounds maintenance contracts. I am probably the biggest grounds maintenance member on ljn and I cant yet justify the cost of a cylinder to my business, and I cut hundreds of acres every week.
You also have to look at what price you are going to get on a job like this.
Brian , cylinder sharping £150 a time for 3 units plus bottom blades and screws ?

Something like this will be a good move,Scag zero turn
A zero turn with a large deck will cut the big area quite quick as they have a fast mowing speed, also they are agile enough to do the smaller areas. Also a mid mount zero turn will fit your trailer.
Otherwise go for a new bigger trailer, such as a ifor williams lm126, and an out front rotary mower, such as a kubota f3060 just get a 72" rear discarge deck.
Brian, thats not bad price for sharping with standard botton blades , in past on machines i have gone for thicker bottom blades , its something i am looking at the moment ride triple mower , i was looking at one on friday Jacosben Tri King 7 blade cylinders done 600 hours with boxes , I aree with the cost of runing clyinder mowers than rotary mowers but i find lot of people dont how to set up clyinders mowers they have a problem with allways over tighten the cylinders to the bottom blades than that wears the other parts out like the drive pumps and the clyinder bearings
My approach is to by used ones that are 4 to 5 years old for around £5000 (new they're 40k plus) and get 3 plus seasons out of it then px it for another 5k machine. We have found these trouble free, easy to maintain, give a good cut and fast (7 acres an hour). We purchased our first one 6 years ago for one site and then were able to tender for other big sites to ensure the machine earned its keep.
