Price for starters - thats big money for a 4 year old machine - little use or not. If it's a cam model, then look for any horizontal play in the tines - if any walk away. If little use, the tines should be pretty close to original length (whatever that is).
Looking at prices for used bannermans and camons, this seems very expensive.
Hi Andrew,
I agree with you entirely on the price, the picture on the link doesnt suggest it was wrapped in cotton wool and set aside for the day when a needy young gardener came along. however could you elaborate further on the horizontal play in the tines?
With regard to other models , I have spent countless fruitless evenings searching for every make of Aerator there is and that is available here. Maybe im looking in the wrong places.
Is it a cam model or a drum. Cam has a crankshaft type type operation and the tines will go up and down. Drum, is more rotational.
Assuming cam, from back of machine, check if any of the tines or crank arms have any side to side play. If so there could be problems in the crank bearings / cam joints and would generally be expensive to fix. I'm not familar with this model, so can't tell you exactly what it'll look like.
Why not find something on ebay and get it shipped. I'm sure something could be worked out if shipping from UK.Or get multiple items and come and collect in 1 go.
