Natural Stone Paving & Walling

If you're a Hard Landscaper and have quoted for a natural stone project due to start in the next few weeks you might be wise to review your quotation immediately or take action to purchase the materials soon. Most, if not all, of the natural stone importers supplying Indian & Chinese natural stone paving and walling products have announced significant increases (+20%) for imported natural stone effective from April. The reason for the significant increase centres around three primary issues:1) Shipping costs have escalated from $400 to $1,700 in the last 12 weeks as theshipping companies attempt to address the losses made in 2009 due to a 20% downturn in exports.2) The massive decline of Sterling against the Dollar / Rupee/ Yen (12% in 3 months).3) Fuel surcharge increases of 7.5% and increasing. So expect to see your Builders' Merchant supplier putting up his price by up by £3.00m2 plus very soon!
