Depends on how much is being cut off. All you can do is try it and see but I'm leaning to the side of no.
Its going to be messy!!! mulchers chop and throw the clippings back into the base of the grass - wet grass will clag and leave lumps.....plus skidding the wheels and compaction issues if its a heavy clay soil....I'd avoid it unless absolutely necessary then try and run over the grass with a blower first.
i would add that it depends where the areas your cutting are. Houses etc i wouldn't, i have some sites i mulch from march till the end of October, due to its size i would have mountain of grass. People have commented on how well the areas look, so it can be used in the right areas etc
