Willow thrive in damp conditions. The only caveat is that if whilst excavating the hole, you chop through the willow's roots then the new root shoots might well quickly move into the area you want the bog to be.
Even if you don't chop any roots I'd suspect that the willow's roots will search out the damp soft soil/peat.
Thanks Phil - it was the root chopping I was concerned about but the extra moisture will help regeneration anyway.
