Lifting/Servicing ride-ons

I've wanted a solution to allow easy access to the underside of our small Etesia ride-ons for blades etc for a long while. I've used a small ATV/motocross style 'jack', but it's not ideal.

Current method is to place a tyre beside ride-on and tip the ride-on it sideways - again not ideal.

I've come across this used in the US, but as yet not available in the UK.

What do you think - could it be worth it ?

Would love to be able to 'hire' one from a local mower dealer .....

In the US, the basic version retails at $159.

  • I have been thinking about this myself for a while - type 'car ramps' into ebay surely for £30 its a good buy and would be enough to get of the ground enough for access to blades etc. what do you think?
  • that winch type stand looks a good idea be pretty easy to fabricate too might look into building one
  • Quick and cheap option and fairly safe but not ideal.

Ride-on in one van. Back up other van close to the rear.  Two lengths of planks on both van floors. Push drive ride-on on to the planks and work under it.

As I said not ideal but useful for quick fixes.

  • Gary if you have ride on ramps why dont you use them to ride the mower front wheels up the ramp which should give you access underneath to the blades?

I've tried car ramps, but you really can't the mower high enough and the bottom of the ramps get in your way if you need to lie/get under.

Steve, good point I guess I could do that outside using a van & our ali drive on ramps. There is still the access problem between the ramps. I'll try it.

Shame a good mower shop couldn't hire something like the US product out on a daily basis....
