let's talk micro bore irrigation system

Does anyone have experience of these systems?

A garden I maintain has them in a celler area for a patio garden, and window boxes. All installed by a specialist before me.

It's fed by mains water. I think the little inline drop feed units are scaling up, we are in a hard water area. They have white crusty deposits, and aren't working

Any recommendations for descaling them?

I've already suggested feeding the system from a water butt.

Thanks Adam

  • We have this problem as well and usually as they are so cheap we just replace them annually, I keep a few spares in the van in case of issues.

Could you put an inline water softner in the system, dont know how this would affect the water pressure tho.

  • if you can remove them put them in a pot with vinigar that will disolve the limescale
