LED lights on a Chipper/Shredder or Trailer

We've just had a road going chipper/shredder in for service and to look at original light clusters on the rear as they work intermittently (often after a spray with WD40 or a good kick). We've spent ages checking wires and connectors with limited success, so we mentioned it and asked for suggestions.

A 'knowing' nod confirmed that most light clusters fitted are cost conscious by the OEM and issues are not unknown, so they suggested swap to LED lights - one integral unit, no bulbs & guaranteed for 2 years.

We got the unit back and have to say they are really good - a nice, bright & modern look, with all lights on each side in one low profile red 'warning traingle' shaped cluster, with the lights/flashers lighting up thru the Red (ie changing colour). Cost of each unit ~£40 + vat & fitting. Will post some pictures next week

  • LED tech has moved on a lot since the early days, a lot brighter and smaller now. Makes for some neat vehicle lighting often better than the original.

Just fitted some LED strips in the back of my van, dead impressed so far.
