Leaflet Dropping.Is it a worthwhile activity ?

Hello Everybody,

I am having 10000 leaflets dropped later in the month, can anybody give me any feedback if they have dropped leaflets also? from what i gather the response rate is 1 to 2% so iam hoping by dropping 10000 it should bring in a fair few calls leading to possible jobs ? or am i getting my hopes up a little to much ?

Thanks for reading

James

Are you dropping them yourself or are you trusting some one else?

I agree you are going to get 1% or so, you do need to concentrate on one area and repeat the drop every 2 weeks for three drops in total.

first drop goes in the bin

    second drop might get seen

third drop should then get some results.

make your flyer simple and easy to read, offer an eye catcher or a unique service and finally try and develop a relationship with the client. This will instill trust and get you more calls
    cheers

  • I have done successful leaflet drops, I have delivered the leaflets myself though. One idea I had, which I haven't tried, is to give out leaflets from a mainline London station, which has commuters in my location.

I receive a lot of leaflets through my door, many of which look very unprofessional, make sure your flyer is well produced, if potential customers see a poorly produced flyer, it won't leave a very good impression.

    I hope this helps you.

    Hi James

What response rate diid you get ?
  • HI Paul,

Ive not had the leaflets dropped yet i was holding back for the weather to improve as its been rather wet and icy here since before Christmas thankfully the weather has improved alot in the last week although its still cold with frosts but i would imagine that with all the lovely sunshine were getting and the grass just starting to grow now is a good time to get them dropped

  • Just a bit of info on buying leaflets. I just ordered 2,500 through print24.com. I got A6 double sided 300gsm ones. When you are about to order there is an icon you can hover over and gives you the option to select 0% VAT. Most leaflets will qualify for 0% VAT. I have just got 2500 of these full colour flyers/cards done for £36 delivered, which to my mind is fantastic value.
  • Hi Dan
I had 4'000 delivered with the Cumbernauld advertiser..nice quality and appropiate..got 1 call..they went out 3 weeks ago..I also have been dropping off around blackwood..my local area..the response is much better..usually i do around 100 at a time and get one call from these (2 if lucky)..i'm about to do my third drop in the area..so i think they are starting to see that i must be local..My next leaflets that i do i will mention that i am a local guy from the blackwood area..but for the first time i have work for most of this week..apart from today as a lady put off my pressure washing job till friday as her children have gone down sick..Forgot to say had 23 leaflets through my door yesterday from the same chinky..be warned!! I'm off for a round of golf.
  • Sounds like great value..will have to have a look.

  • Yup, excellent value. I sent them a pdf for both sides of the flyer, high res colour photos etc. Much simpler flyer than my last one and hopefully more effective.
  • My lad had some spare time, so printed maps from google of my area, highlighted the target roads, private estates etc, paid him for 3 days dropping leaflets, about 500 or so, had 23 calls 23 estimates and now have 14 new customers most will / are for grass cutting others trees digging planting and one allotment! more to come i hope. Good luck
