Leaflet drop in snow

Im itching to get the new years first leaflet drop done but not really sure whether the snow will put a damper on things.Am I wiser to hold off until the snow has gone again or do you lovely people think that this wont matter? Are people more likely to bin leaflets during snowy weather thinking the gardens not important with all the problem areas hidden beneath the white covering?Any opinions glady heard

  • i keep thinking about it - just waiting for a strategy , and want to 'disappear' end of jan/middle feb.

i have a few hundred current flyers a5 ready to use. il wait for a sunny day maybe 1st week in feb?
  • If the leaflets are good enough you'll find that you can get the first call up to 4 years later. If they are of a sufficiently high standard and a 'hook' grabs people's attention some will hold onto the leaflet for in case or when they do need someone.
Make the leaflets good. And don't concentrate on 'well off' areas. You will get far more conversions to sales in 'average' areas.
I never knocked on doors when leafleting - Too pushy for my style and also too similar to those who are very aggressive and rip people off!

  • OK To clarify - I got (a few years ago) about 5% of homes leafleted responding in the next few months.
Of those around half converted to sales.
Fairly low hit rate but very low cost advertising.
My hesitation with door knocking is that many people have had bad experiences of buying/selling at the door. I'm not saying it's wrong though!
I'd say that if you're not busy now, distributing leaflets now is not a bad way of spending your time - much better than watching TV or whatever!

  • Thank you for all your responses. I think I will compromise and hold off a couple of weeks longer but as has been said its a better use of my time than say watching telly. I may well waste my time and money but then even if I only got one customer it would be worth it in my book. I am affraid I am a wrestless type and as I need to build up again after a long break I dont think I could not do anything till mid Febuary.
I may even do a little experiment and door knock half and just leave in the letter box for the other half.
I will report my findings ;-)

    Thank you again
  • i hope they keep mine for years!

i dont like to knock either ----
