Lawn sand vs Soluble iron

As the price of a 20kg bag of lawn sand from B&Q has risen from £3.99 to £7.99 in just 3 years i have decided to stop using it and im now looking for a more affordable replacement product. Does anyone use soluble iron as a moss killer and if so how effective is it compared to lawn sand.

    I use Sulphate of Iron, either sprayed on via knapsack or dry using spreader. Better results when sprayed, but it tends to take a good while to apply. Colburn's up in Banbridge sell 25kg bags.

    I always use soluble Iron, easy to apply, does not need watering in and greens the lawn up really fast as well as being cost effective.

    Cant find anywhere local that does it cheaper.

    Does anybody know where sells a tank mixing agent so i can mix a little "N" with the soluble Iron? Vitax used to provide it, but they dont seem to anymore..
