Can you not blow the grass back on to the lawn
Sack them - couldn't be bothered with a customer like that....you are introducing organic matter to the soil.
I really would not bother with The Sunday Supplement type of accessory :-)
Only you know their net worth to you as a client.

I just blow them out gently.
Vacuuming beds? Who in their right mind has time for that! I scatter any clippings with a blower, they add a little nutrient and NEVER take root, but somehow I suspect this client won't believe you. Time to issue a farewell if I were you, and state exactly why in the letter / call.
Couldent be bothered with a customer like that!! We strim the edges with the strimmer then if theres any clippings in the border id turn them through the soil or disperse them with the blower or blow back on to the lawn before mowing.
Pure customer OCD going on though
Customer is 100% wrong their, ive had a few like that, Just tell them fact - it wont happen, if they dont belive you, part ways, you deserve better customers and its a bad sign - if their that OCD over a few grass blades which will disapear in 48 hours.... they are going to be more difficult in the long run.
Some people actually mulch their shrub beds with grass clippings and you don't see it turning into an extended lawn !:P!
Got a few customers who are particular about edging clippings - just a few seconds to blow back before mowing no skin off my nose - I agree with Harry, as long as they are not asking ridiculous time consuming processes, I'm happy to provide the service.
I'm with the client on this one! It's one of my pet hates to see grass clippings left in borders. To me it's lack of attention to detail. Clients pay good money for the service and shouldn't expect to see a bed full of grass cuttings.
We edge up using strimmers and then blow the clippings back into the lawn. Nice and neat and tidy however don't get me started about those clients who love to use bark mulch as this makes it a tad tricky to blow them off.
And no the clippings don't self seed should the odd one get left behind.
