ladders , health & safety

i presume its correct ' when working on ladders' ;it is health and safety regs that 2 people are present.1. do you work alone2.do you charge for 2 people on site?3.do you only work with 2 people and explain to the customer the situation?4.what does your insurance stipulate?a forestry commission worker died near us 2days ago up a tree. a branch fell on him.( i guess what i read in paper ,he was working in regulations and was fully qualified and experienced)..................

yes of course you charge for 2 people , there has to be 2 people there so why woudnt you ?
the customer has no say in this its the law !
check your insurance ! i am not insured to work above a certain height , i think it is no more than 6ft above ground level , but will have to check this one , but due to health and safety all my commercail work is all down to this managable height soley based on these issues !
  • staff is the most important fact i guess.

is it up to you if self employed to go up ladders 22 ft ? pruning climbing roses / hedges etc?
  • My height is 4 stories! Its theminimum RBS do! I was 3 stories up today in a cherry picker topping out some trees at a hotel!
