Well I plumped for the iseki sxg 216 as got a great price on it
my dealer offered me a reasonable price on Kubota but we were £200 apart and then got a iseki for under £6000 with just 40 hours on the clock from another dealer.
i was suprised my dealer let me walk away for £200 especially as I run 2 kabotas (soon to be 1) and I spend a small fortune in parts as both machines have 4 services a year (every 40 hours) plus blades and breakdowns etc.
He would have been guaranteed my buisness for at least another 3 years
Hello,
Please could I ask you why you say that you service your Kubota GR1600's every 40 hours? I ask as I have a client who has the same ride on and it's serviced every 150 hours for the oil and every 300 hours for the hydro oil and filter change.
Also I have an Iseki sxg 19 which i service myself, oil changes every 150 hours and the hydro every 300 hours. Also have an Iseki SF 230 out front mower bought second hand with 1350 hours on the clock. I live and work in France where gardens are on average alot larger than in UK 3000 sq meters and going to 2 hectares, so need ride on mowers.
I prefer the Iseki's as the engines are bigger capacity and the metal on the grass chutes is heavier gauge, much better quality in my opinion. Best of luck with your new purchase.
Hello Dylan,
I would definitely go for the Iseki tractor as I believe they are much better quality than Kubota. I used to own an Iseki SXG 23 (I think this is the correct number, it was several years ago when I owned this machine) I purchased the 54-inch model with the high lift collector brand-new which came with a two-year warranty.
I owned the machine for approximately a year as I ended up selling my landscaping business back in 2009 complete with all the machinery! I had no problems at all with this Iseki tractor, it left a great finish and had a reasonable collection system via a large central chute between the driving wheels.
I have since hired Kubota tractors and have been very disappointed with the quality compared with the Iseki tractor.
To conclude, I would definitely go for the Iseki.
Well I bought the iseki sxg216 and it’s not a bad machine.
i would say the grass finish is better but it doesn’t fill the bag like the kubota and I have done around 250 hours on it now and the motor has died on the electric bag lift.
my dealer has just quoted me £1080 for a new one! Ouch I will be converting it to a manual system as that is ridiculous
anyone else had had any issues
