Just wondered what you guys are using for this these days.Plain old mortar or is there a new kid on the block? Are there any good alternatives about that do what they're meant to do? I played around with pavefix about 8 yrs ago and had to replace nearly every job I did with it! Was a shame as it looked really good and was so easy.

  • Geofix is the one for me... so easy to use and workable in all weathers.. Marshall have one too called weather point 365 which i have only heard good things about. There is also one that i tried recently by sika.. Its awful. steer clear

  • I know a lot of people who have had awful experiences with geofix.

I use Larsen FJM which is a slurry applied cement based grout. It goes on very fast but then needs powerhosed to get the excess off which creates a mess so its not suitable for all jobs. Similar to flowpoint

Marshalls 365 seems to be popular buts its expensive. The other alternatives are the 2 part resin based mortars such as rompox d1, gtfk or nexus which are even more expensive agaain but will last better

The major benefit of all of the above is that you can use them in the rain
  • Geofix is total rubbish, does not stand the test of time, 1 year at most and it comes out, i first used it 13 years ago for a national paving co. we had more come backs than enough,
Marshalls 365 is very good, why you all say expensive as can be used in all weathers ,clean no mess, very fast to place and finish so the cost pays for itself in time to do job
the 2 part epoxy's such as GFTK 750 or 850 are one of the best but cost a bit more ,made in germany top quality time proved i use it alot.
you have to price it into the job allowing for savings in time and stoppage to to being to wet or cold to sand /cement point

  • Dont use geofix. Sorry Matt but its crap, just mention it on Paving expert and your likely to be shot. Weather point 365 is good, also larsons do a good gunable pointing mix.

  • as a moderator on paving expert i will do the shooting...lol

  • oh.. i haven't had any issues with it yet.. i may take that on board then and start using weather point more often.

  • Whats your name on paving expert Mark? Im KLS.

  • msh paving
