Looks the part will be interested to know how you get on with this , we have SGR22 & are maybe going to shift it this year! Looking at either SXG19 or 22 depends on the price though!

  • Well, first day out yesterday with really wet grass and it works a treat! I am worried about one thing though, there are no belts, its all shafts (apart from PTO drive), and as we left the shop, the owner gave me a bag of sheer pins for the blade mountings I hope  dont need them!!!!

  • I used to work on a large estate, we were busy planting out and got caught with poor weather for 3 weeks so got a well known maintenance company to come in and mow for us, they used an Iseki SXG19, we were so impressed that they did it all in a day, used to take us 2 days with our ride on we had at the time. cut a long story short we ordered one!

Great mowers!, also good for picking up leaves in the autumn, the hydraulic dump feature certainly takes the effort out of things. Just make sure you keep the cable from the blade engage lever to the transmission adjusted correctly, there's an in line adjuster, we had no trouble in 3 yrs apart from regular servicing. I would buy another in an instant if I needed a ride on, currently I use the owners ones  where I work, not Iseki sadly.

  • I used to own the Iseki SXG22 High Lift it is a very good machine, I very much liked the idea of a large chute between the axles for collecting grass etc, although it is possible to block with long grass or wet grass! There is an agitator, that does help to keep the chute clear. As for no belts, that has to be a good thing! I had the high lift version, which is great for emptying, the good thing is that you don't have to get of the machine to empty the collector! The fact that the manufacturer gives the machine a two year commercial warranty tells you something!

The only thing I struggled with was that I was used to using a zero turn mower so I obviously found the Iseki much less maneuverable, but I did have grass collection!

I am sure you have made a good choice Steve, just keep the machine serviced, I think I only ever broke one shear pin, so no worries there.

  • Thanks folks - I wanted the sxg 19/22 before but ended up with The Kubota G21 for the last 5 years, and that proved to be very good. I am sure that the Iseki will be even better!

    Cheers

    Steve
