    Very interesting post,seems people are divided on the merits of factoring.

    Yes, that was my view as well.

    I've seen both sides of issue - I possibly like the concept, but having seen it executed and been on the other end of one the credit factoring followup calls for an invoice we had to pay, but was not yet technically due caused me to think again.

    I WOULD not want that wished on my clients.

    BUT you have to do right for your business situation....

    The received wisdom is that you will lose 30% of your customer base simply by switching to factoring.
    Every company I know that has tried it except one, has gone on to fail. One of my bolt suppliers has just started factoring their invoices, based on past experience I am worried for their future.
