Inpact Drivers

Hi, i have just bought a Makita inpact driver, a very good bit of kit. But the Makita inpact bits i bought with just dont last, are their any better ones on the market. They seem to cost quite a bit which is ok if they last.

Thanks Andrew

  • i found this was a problem, especially with using certain types of screws, and especially when screwing into oak sleepers. I now use timberfix 360 screws for a lot of the work we do. I find they dont jack the wood apart like spax, dont tear up the wood either. Used them for about 2 years now and wouldnt use anything else having tried most others. Best thing (apart from the price of them) is every box comes with a free bit, which last a lot longer than most ones you have to buy such as wera etc.

  • I have found the milwaulke shockwave bits decent for pozi drive, like thermo when using bigger timberlok type screws i use the nut driver supplied with them. After getting through 4 boxes so far this year i still have 4 bits so they last well.

Try the shockwave for pozi and torx

  • the timberfix 360 is a normal general purpose screw but i rate it very highly and its a cheap way of getting the driver bits

link attached, but you will find cheaper places on the net for them than this as well!
