    One of my customers here in Lichfield West Midlands said she had one that arrived about the same time each day, which I understand is a typical habit. I never got to see it, wrong time and sadly she passed away at the beginning of this year. So missed out there.

    Fascinating too how they probe into the flower with their long delicate proboscis whilst remaining in one place.

    I saw several during a holiday in the Pelion region of Greece a few years back. On returning home, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw one in my garden (Hants/Berks border). I got straight onto the internet to report this "rare" sight, only to find that they had been observed in every county of the British Isles!
    Curiously, I have never seen one since.

    used to get them in Rye East Sussex...we had plenty of massive buddlia :-)
