as long as you follow the manufacturers recommendation and measure your flow rate per meter and its to there spec you should be fine. depending on your application size a knapsack sprayer should be fine, try using a medium nozzle..
I was applying Ferromel straight from a fertiliser spreader for ease of use (it was cheap and cheerful). Can't say i would recommend it. Way to easy to burn the grass.
I don't plan to use Ferromel again, this winter I'm doing a bit of a spoon feed mix.

I use an iron product you can dilute with cups per knapsack sprayed on using a black flat fan nozzle about 100m per tank i think.
