how do you pay for your tax

Does anyone pay for there tax by direct debit with HMRC ?Iam thinking of using this option as it has to be easier than using my bank (abbey) The interest that i will loose out on will be very small.What other ways do you save for the big bills!!

    We have had to start paying our VAT by direct debit this will be our first go so don't know as yet, we are still paying our PAYE by cheque.
