When I was hard landscaping I would often pick up the phone and call designers to see if they they needed contractors to build thier designs. It worked, obviously you will get a few knock backs along the way but thats part of the game. I think a lot of people are nervous about cold calling but as long as you are offering a good product/service it can be a very effective way of direct marketing
