Have you put too much oil in? These small 4 strokes only need a tiny amount of oil!<br/>
Could be head gasket oil control ring or loads of other stuff
Only put a small amount of oil in. However it does appear to expand greatley and when oil filler is removed it overspills. I will strip it down fully and have a look. Thanks Richard.
From memory they only need about 100ml
I'd go with oil level - have you filled as per manual, just up to the edge of the filler plug threads?
Check the breather pipe for cracks too, the oil feed is just a slinger, so no pressure. If the oil is blowing out rather than leaking out, and level is correct I'd be going with 'blow by' pressurising the crankcase. Although why that would happen after a service is a big question.
Cheers Scott, Yes the oil was filled to the correct level. Once started it sounds and runs well, however the oil flies out of the breather when running. Only run it for a few seconds.
Not familiar with these engines however wonder if the machine was left on its side for some time and the oil seeped through into the "upper"area of the engine (above the cylinder head, under the rocker cover)............this would then run back into the sump area when the machine was the right way round and the old oil would mix with the new giving your high oil level, dirty looking oil and oil coming out the breather. Only guessing here but the dirty excessive oil had to come from somewhere. .
