Hedge laying

Hi all.I was woundering if there are any members on here that can hedge lay? It is a skill I would love to learn as it ment to be dying out! If not does any one know of any coleges etc were I would be able to learn the nessercery skills to add to my companies list of can dos.Kieran

  • a few years back....... no... not 40, about 6!, I remember them laying the hedges on the M1 near Luton. They must have done about 4miles on each side with overgrown hawthorn.... looked fantastic after it was done. It was February, March rime so perhaps theHighways Dept had some money left over in their budget as it must have cost a fortune. Thinking about it, might have been a waste of time as the M1's been widened there and its all gone...... typical government department!

    Paul PG, Ihave my ms260 so maybe something cheeper if thats the case with the says! I cant afford £500 if it goes bang to quick!
    Paul W, I saw that on ebay too I am going to get me thinks, especialy as most of the hedges around here ate hawthorne and blackthorne!

    I have tooked into some courses and BTCV run a 2 day course not too far from me early next year so I will book my self on it. I can also get a nationaly recognised qualification if I am good enough! that could be helpfull.

    Anywho keep adding dont let me stop you maybe there is a golden nugget of info out there waiting to be posted!!!
