Are you looking for an agent to find you an employee or do you just want to place an ad? That does seem quite high...
Haven't used Andersplus, but if you're looking for cheaper but still relevant alternatives, Pitchcare offer just an online ad placement service, and Agrifj.co.uk seem to have good deals running which are fixed price, not a percentage of salary, and include online deals and CV searches.
Hope it all goes well! :)
Hi Acacia Groundcare Hire
Thanks for the input. I had a look at both of your suggestions but I am looking for a someone experienced in hard landscaping for the construction of new gardens and these companies only seem to have grounds maintenance staff on their books. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Hi Paul, sorry I haven't got any advice for you. Like you we too are looking for a hard landscaper and have placed our ad onto the universal job match government website- sometimes other websites pick that up and put it on theirs for free.
We have got quotes for £1000s to find us someone or pay for an ad. The best price we had was for £250 for horticultural careers website- but we were unsure how many people searched that website.
We are looking to pay someone between 26-30,000 and I guess at some point we will have to pay some money somewhere to find this person we are looking for.
Good luck!
Hi Aye and Susan,
Thanks for commenting on this question. I will definitely follow your advice and look at the horticultural careers website as another avenue. You are offering a great wage for an employed landscaper, I think I would struggle to make a profit on that kind of salary. I am based in Reading and we travel around 25miles or so if we have to but generally we stay much more local and I think that £26k would be the absolute maximum for me to pay an experienced landscaper. Do you work a lot in London and therefore possibly charge a bit more or perhaps I am under charging?
thanks
Paul
We advertised in 2013 for a landscaper at £100 a day which is £24,000 a year. We had a great guy apply and we took him on, unfortunately due to family problems he had to move to a different county and we were sad to lose him. This time we want someone that is extremely competent who can produce high end projects and a fantastic eye for detail and to attract that kind of person we thought £120 would be better - around £28,000 a year that comes out at. We are not just looking for a landscaper but a landscape manager I guess.
We turned away so much work last year and the year before and we never want to do that again.
If we had a skilled landscaper who we can trust to take charge of projects etc then it will free up Aye more when the baby comes and also enhance our business.
We are in Surrey, not sure if that makes a difference.
Hi having been place by them in a position a few years ago, They did a excellent job for me. very professional
Hi William,
Thanks for commenting. Did they match you with the right job the first time round or did it take a while? Are you surprised that your employer would have paid a fee equivalent to 10% of your yearly salary and do you think that this is reasonable? also what other ways did you seek employment that you found helpful?
Thanks
Paul
